Protect and Govern Data with Microsoft Purview
Data governance, sensitivity labels, DLP policies, and compliance management with Microsoft Purview.
About This Course
Microsoft Purview is where data governance meets security. This course covers the full Purview platform — sensitivity labels, data loss prevention, retention policies, records management, insider risk, and the compliance portal. If your organization handles sensitive data in Microsoft 365, these are the controls that keep it classified, protected, and compliant.
You will start with information protection: creating sensitivity labels, configuring auto-labeling policies that classify documents based on content, and deploying label policies to users and groups. The DLP section covers policy creation across all Microsoft 365 workloads — Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and endpoint devices. Each policy includes practical examples of sensitive information types, custom classifiers, and policy tips that educate users at the point of action.
The compliance side covers retention policies for data lifecycle management, records management for regulatory obligations, and insider risk management for detecting data exfiltration patterns. Every module uses the Purview compliance portal with real configuration walkthroughs so you can implement these controls in your own environment.
